[Podcast] Repair. Finding our way back to each other after conflict.
Hello!
Have you ever told someone you love that they hurt you, and they immediately started explaining why they didn’t mean to or why you misunderstood?
Or maybe you’ve been on the other side of that conversation. Someone you love is hurt, and all you want is for them to understand that you never meant to hurt them.
I think this is such a tender and difficult place in relationships.
Our instinct is often to explain ourselves. We want the other person to understand what we meant, what was happening for us, and why we did what we did.
But sometimes all of that explaining gets in the way of the thing the other person needs most… to feel heard.
This week on The Things That Come Between Us, I’m talking about repair and what can actually help us find our way back to each other after there’s been hurt.
I share a few simple things that I’ve found can make a huge difference.
If you and someone you love keep getting caught in the same conflicts and have a hard time getting to repair, this is exactly the kind of thing I can help with.
